continuity plan and received certification in 2006 as a business continuity planner. Two
years ago he helped launch the company's Atlantic Business Continuity Services division
which provides business continuity planning services to local businesses. Scott serves on
the Advisory Board to the Charleston Metro Chamber's ThinkTec division,
and is a the planning committee chairman for the Chamber's Business Continuity Planning
Council.
Topic: Business Continuity Planning: Tips and Resources for Protecting Your
Business.
Today's businesses are faced with an ever growing list of potential threats to their
operations: natural disasters, utility outages, I.T. systems availability, pandemic flu,
terrorism, and many others. In fact, one in four small businesses will experience a
significant business disruption in any given year. Businesses need a plan to survive these
events and they disruptions they cause, whether it is a large scale event such as an
earthquake or hurricane or the day-to-day events like utility outages and I.T. downtime.
This presentation was developed by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce's Business
Continuity Planning Council to educate local businesses about the details of a business
continuity plan, what's typically included in a Plan, and the resources provided by the
Chamber to assist you in your planning efforts.
